    East Midlands Conference Centre (EMCC)

     

    Monday 22 June to Wednesday 24 June


    Arrival

    EMCC ConferenceFor delegates arriving at EMCC from 2.30pm on Monday 22 June, registration will take place in the Conference Centre Atrium. Delegates arriving later in the evening will still need to register at the Capita desk in the Conference Centre so that they can be directed to the correct Accommodation Block. Bedrooms can be accessed from 3pm onwards. The BBQ, cocktails and entertainment arranged for Monday evening will begin at 6.30pm in the Conference Centre Banqueting Suite, and on the lawns, weather permitting.

    The food on Monday evening will be served between 6.45-8.15pm. If you are going to arrive after this time, please contact Alison Paris in advance of the Conference on 01234 838080 ext 2425, so that she can make alternative arrangements for you regarding dinner (food can be plated up and saved for late delegates).

    For delegates arriving at EMCC on Tuesday 23 June and Wednesday 24 June, registration will take place in the Conference Centre Atrium from 8.30am. The Conference starts promptly at 9.45am.

    Bedrooms can be accessed from 3pm. A luggage storage facility will be available in the Conference Centre for delegates’ use during the conference.

    Car Parking

    There are 200 parking spaces immediately outside the Conference Centre, with many more spaces on the adjacent campus road and at the accommodation blocks.

    All accommodation blocks are within a five-minute walk of the Conference Centre and therefore there is no need for delegates to use mini-buses.

    Parking permits are not required for delegates parking on the Campus.

    Please note that EMCC cannot accept responsibility for any damage to or loss of personal belongings left in vehicles parked on the Campus, and therefore ask that you do not leave personal valuables in your vehicle. 

    Leisure Facilities

    The Swimming Pool and Fitness Centre facilities are available free of charge to residential delegates. Please take your room key with you as proof.

    Swimming Pool Opening Times: 7.30am - 8.30pm on weekdays

    Fitness Centre Opening Times: 7am – 10pm on weekdays

    All other leisure facilities, such as the squash courts and astro turf pitches, have to be booked and paid for.

    Dress Code

    Monday Evening - casual
    Tuesday and Wednesday Daytime - business casual
    Tuesday Evening – smart casual; no jeans or trainers if possible

    Lost and Found

    Please report any lost or found property to the EMCC reception in the Conference Centre Atrium or advise a member of Capita staff.

    EMCC Out of Hours: There is no out of hours number for the EMCC, however each Hall of Residence has a main reception number and their Porters are on duty until midnight.

    Fire Alarm

    1. The fire alarm is a continuous single tone siren. 
    2. If the alarm sounds, leave the building by the nearest fire exit.
      The building will be evacuated under the direction of the Centre Staff.
    3. The assembly point is the Lower Car Park close to the ‘Sales Office’ which is the cottage at the entrance to the car park.  All visitors must wait there until the all-clear is given by a member of the Centre Staff.
    4. In the event of a fire or emergency a member of the Centre Staff must be informed so that WE can summon the emergency services.  In the unlikely event that no member of the Centre Staff is available you must dial 8888 on the internal telephone system and NOT 999. 

    Doctor

    Cripps Health Centre is situated near Cripps Hall on Cripps Hill at the University of Nottingham. Within the building there is a University Occupational Health Unit and a Boots Pharmacy.

    Urgent/Emergency Appointments

    There are urgent/emergency appointments available with the ‘Duty Doctor’, Monday to Friday both morning and afternoon sessions.  These important slots are only for true urgent medical problems. 

    There is always a nurse and doctor available for urgent problems when the surgery is closed.  This service can be accessed by phoning the Health Centre number and you will be transferred through to their service.  The Out of Hours service is provided by Nottingham Emergency Medical Services (NEMS).  This is based at Fanum House, a short distance from the Campus and will provide advice or arrange to see you as necessary.

    The Queens Medical Centre Hospital is located opposite the University Campus via North Entrance.

    Bedrooms

    Rooms must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. There is no formal checking out procedure. Please drop your key at the designated point in your hall or at the Conference Centre reception.
