Keele University is two miles west of Newcastle-under-Lyme on the A525 road to Whitchurch, Nantwich and Crewe.

MapBy Car
We recommend that if you are travelling from the north or south, you leave the M6 Motorway at Junction 15 and follow the A519 to Newcastle-under-Lyme, then the A525 Whitchurch road to Keele.
  • From the East – follow the main roads to Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme, then the A525 to Keele.
  • From the West – approach by the A525 road.

By Air

  • London (Heathrow or Gatwick) Airports – Follow recommended route (Airbus Shuttle, train or taxi) to central London and travel to Euston Station for journey by rail to Stoke-on-Trent Station – travelling time approximately two hours.
  • Manchester International Airport – Take a taxi or bus to Manchester Piccadilly Station and travel by rail to Stoke-on-Trent or Crewe Stations (taxi, direct from airport to Keele, takes 50 minutes travelling time).
  • Birmingham International Airport – Take a taxi or bus to Birmingham New Street and travel by rail to Stoke-on-Trent Station. There is also a free monorail to Birmingham International Railway Station.

By Bus

  • From Stoke-on-Trent Station – PMT buses (No. 18) leave the stop which is on the other side of the road, to the left of the station entrance, every 30 minutes. Journey to the University takes about 34 minutes.
  • From Crewe Station – Arriva buses to Hanley (No. 85) leave the stop to the left of the station entrance and across the road at 20 minutes past the hour, and travel through the campus, taking about 36 minutes.
  • Alight in Keele Village for Hawthorns and Keele Management Centre.

By Taxi
There is a taxi rank outside each station and typically the journey takes 15-20 minutes from Stoke Station and 20-25 minutes from Crewe Station.

By Rail
The nearest railway stations are Stoke-on-Trent (five miles) and Crewe (eleven miles).

Taxis on Departure
Taxis may be called from payphones on the campus or from 24 Hour Reception in the Darwin Building. Special low rates have been negotiated with Roseville Taxis. Tel: (01782) 613456
