eNurseries
Enabling nurseries to offer a professional service
One eNurseries enables authorities to offer
childcare providers a comprehensive
management system which simplifies the
day-to-day running of nurseries. It dramatically
eases the burden of administration in
pre-school settings and helps authorities
ensure the best possible service is provided
to families with young children.
Easy access to detailed information
on children and staff
One eNurseries enables childcare providers to maintain a
comprehensive record of the children using their services.
Parental contact details, special educational needs or key
medical data, such as information on allergies, can be accessed
in no time, ensuring all staff can be made aware of the current
needs of every child in their care. Information on children is
readily available in the required format for the DfES’ data
gathering requirements, saving time for nurseries in meeting
their statutory obligations.
A complete record of staff can be stored on the system with
detailed information on any training required or qualifications
gained, helping managers understand where staff skills need to
be improved.
Efficient management of waiting lists
and staff-to-child ratios
Childcare providers can manage waiting lists simply and ensure
spare places are offered quickly to the families that need them.
The system uses current data entered on children and staff to
automatically calculate the number of available places in a
setting and ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations on
staff-to-child ratios. In addition, staffing levels can be
forecasted across particular time periods throughout the day
and the system highlights the need for additional staffing
provision when levels fall below what is required.
Simple administration of finances
Financial management is greatly simplified as session fees can
be calculated at the click of a mouse. Individual providers can
tailor billing to suit their needs or those of their clients, and
invoices are generated automatically according to these
requirements. Managers can use the system to keep track of
overdue accounts and forecast the expected income for
individual children, or the setting as a whole, supporting more
informed budget-planning. The system also tracks those
families entitled to Early Years’ funding and calculates this
automatically.
Monitor the standard of provision
eNurseries allows for data exchange with other authority
systems to help the authority monitor pre-school provision as a
whole or for an individual child. This makes it easy for authority
staff to monitor the quality of provision in individual pre-school
settings to ensure standards are being met.
By sharing information with other providers, such as Children’s
Centres, an intelligent picture of a child’s usage of services
across an authority can be seen, so any gaps in provision can be
identified.
