    Admissions & Transfers Online

Online application form for admission to school

One Admissions & Transfers Online (A&T Online) enables local authorities to offer parents the convenience of applying for their child’s school place online, saving time for authority staff and contributing to e-government targets on improving online access to council services. Using A&T Online, parents can submit their child’s school place application from a home or work computer, view their offer and monitor the progress of any subsequent appeals without having to contact authority staff.

School place applications submitted anytime, anywhere

During the admissions phase A&T Online enables parents with an email address to apply for their child’s school place from any PC with internet access, at a time that is convenient for them. Electronic application forms can be completed and submitted at the click of a mouse, or saved for editing; allowing parents time to review their choices. Notification that a child’s application has been received will be automatically sent to parents via email, removing the uncertainty which can result from postal applications. Once a child is offered a school place, parents can be informed by email and they will be able to view details of their child’s school place allocation online. Schools can support families who do not have access to technology by helping them complete their child’s application form from a computer in school.

    Saves hours in administration time

Applications made online are quickly and easily imported into the main admissions system. This process is made simpler if the local authority has issued parents with a Unique Identifier (UID) with which to make their application online. The UID automatically matches the application to the child data already stored within One, saving hours in administration time and helping reduce the risk of duplication of children. Applications made without a UID can be manually matched with existing
child information or added as a new record.

Ensures an effective online admissions process

A&T Online meets the eAdmissions National Project’s minimum features list for an online admissions application form and can be tailored to meet a local authority’s requirements. A&T Online is easy to use and is Disability Discrimination Act Level AA compliant, ensuring as many parents as possible can take advantage of it.

Extending the use of Online by enabling Online Appeals

Using the UID any parent, not just with an online application, can make an online appeal for any of their preference schools not allocated. The process can be tracked with assigned hearing details and outcomes posted online as soon as they become available
