What's New with SIMS

SIMS Learning Gateway is the next generation learning platform. It allows schools to give users a single online workspace both inside and outside of school.

From this, teachers, pupils and parents can access the pupil data held in your school’s SIMS Management Information System alongside a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), email, local authority web sites and countless other software used by schools.

Give teachers, pupils and parents secure access to the information they need
Through a single username and password, parents, pupils and teachers can be given secure, 24 hour- a- day online access to live data in SIMS.
Each user is provided with their own personal workspace so that current information about learning can be accessed through a single web- based ‘dashboard’.

Benefits for teachers
Using SIMS Learning Gateway, teachers can view test results for their class before creating assignments on a learning environment to ensure that the work set specifically targets a group or individual’s needs. Teachers no longer have to stay in school to carry out work; they can write pupil reports or update mark sheets from any computer with Internet access.

Benefits for pupils
In SIMS Learning Gateway, pupils can have direct access to their timetables, school event information, assessment records and learning targets.The system’s powerful collaboration tools encourage group work and discussions to resolve problems, enabling pupils to challenge each other and learn together.

Benefits for parents
Parents can access their children’s attendance records, behaviour log or assessment scores whenever they need to. There are also areas for parental online collaboration, document areas for school policies or newsletter to be viewed, and a school notice page for events and announcements. If the local authority is also using SIMS Learning Gateway, the system could be set up to allow parents to apply for uniform grants, free school meals or other benefits.
