    Local Support

    SIMS is currently used in over 150 local education authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Each of those authorities provides SIMS support as part of its IT support to schools. If your SIMS software is licensed through your local authority, your first call for support is to your local team. In the vast majority of cases, your local team will be able to resolve your problem but if necessary, they are able to escalate the enquiry to the SIMS Service Desk at Bedford.

    Direct Support

    If you hold a "single-site" licence or are a licensed independent school, you can obtain support from SIMS in Bedford or from one of the SIMS Regional Centres. A directory of SIMS sites is available here.

    Web Support empowers our customers with two great online tools - Solution Search and Case Log.

    Solution Search allows any user of SIMS access to a rich online knowledge base of solutions to the most common queries raised with the SIMS Service Desk. Solutions can be accessed from anywhere and at any time - your very own virtual 24/7 Helpdesk.

    Case Log gives customers the ability to log their queries (cases) online directly with the SIMS Service Desk without the need to make a call, with the added power of being able to track the progress of each case, add notes to provide further information for the Support Analyst dealing with the case, or re-open a previously closed case if the issue recurs*.

    (* Please note that the Case Log feature is only available to local authorities and schools who are supported directly and fully by Capita, Bedford)

    All SIMS users benefit from access to SupportNet, our web-based support site. SupportNet is completely FREE and offers a wide range of information related to your SIMS system, including news, events, downloads and discussion forums.


    Top Up Telephone Support (TUTS)

    The SIMS Service Desk offer a Telephone Support Service (TUTS) that enables local authorities to use Capita for a top-up service, providing additional support on the whole SIMS suite or just specialist areas, such as timetabling or assessment.  For full details on this service, including costs click here
