    DRS Data & Research Services

OMR forms, when used in conjunction with SIMS modules allow schools to register pupils in Forms or Teaching Groups, to record reasons for absence and to carry out spot checks on lesson attendance.

For the collection of assessment data, forms are available to cover the different types of Aspects; once overprinted with pupil names; the forms are distributed to teachers for completion as they mark work, and then scanned directly back into Assessment Manager.

The Profiles form enables teachers to select comments for each pupil, which the SIMS software then combines into reports.

Scanning the forms is simplicity itself with the DRS range of hand-fed and fully automatic OMRs. The forms are simply scanned through the reader and the data is sent directly into the SIMS system. Schools can order forms directly from DRS, or sometimes via their LEA. Whilst the hand-fed reader is more than adequate for smaller schools, increasing numbers of secondary schools and larger primaries are upgrading to the automatic feed models to increase efficiency and save administrator's time.

DRS has been working with educational establishments in helping to capture vital data from applications such as Pupil Registration, Attendance Monitoring, Assessment, Examination Marking and Pupil Reports for 30 years. Whatever, the requirement, whether it be:
    • Value added testing
    • National Curriculum assessment (including GNVQ)
    • Attendance monitoring and spot checks for truancy
    • Pupil profiling (this information can be used to generate school reports)
    • Multiple choice question papers
    • Pupil or teacher generated questionnaires
    • End of key stage aggregation
    ...DRS can help.
