What is eLearning?
There is no one, all-encompassing definition of eLearning. In fact, many people prefer to remove the 'e' altogether, and take the opportunity to discuss what we mean by learning. That debate is beyond the scope of this website, but is actively encouraged by our consultancy and training programme.
A number of people, rather than defining eLearning, look at its potential outcomes.
Schools that are using the SIMS .net Learning Platform service have chosen it to support a range of projects and initiatives to:
- Develop of out-of-hours learning
- Help reduce teacher workload
- Make effective use of existing ICT infrastructure & data
- Support Assessment for Learning
- Help raise achievement
- Manage differentiated access to digital materials
- Support independent exam revision
- Start a collaborative 6th Form
- Explore new ways of teaching & learning
- Develop and deliver AS courses to the local community
